How It Works: The Methodology

Three Core Components

1. Anchor Values These are your competing options—the alternatives you're evaluating. They might be acquisition targets, office locations, job candidates, technology platforms, or any mutually exclusive choices competing for the same decision.

2. Parameters These are the evaluation criteria that matter for your specific decision. Each anchor value receives a raw score for each parameter based on objective data or standardized assessments.

3. Parameter Weights You assign importance weights to each parameter (totaling 100%) based on your strategic priorities. This ensures your rankings reflect what matters most, not just what's easiest to measure.

The Calculation Process

For each parameter, the tool:

1. Identifies the best-performing anchor value (highest raw score)

2. Calculates each anchor value's performance as a percentage of the best performer

3. Multiplies these percentages by the assigned parameter weight

4. Sums weighted scores across all parameters to generate a cumulative score

5. Ranks all anchor values from highest to lowest cumulative score
