About Us

Back in 2017, a few Workforce Planning and Talent Intelligence professionals started chatting once a quarter. Over time, one or two more people were added into this conversation. By late 2017, there were a dozen members in this little group but we realized a more informal and closer to real time conversation was needed. Over time, the talk of what brought them together, the future state of Workforce Planning and Talent Intelligence, expanded from one common interest into a whole host of topics. 

Soon enough, we realized that it would be a nice idea to extend their newly formed group to the rest of the community in this nascent field. The current set up wasn’t feasible as it would become far too confusing and not scalable. It was at this point we decided to try and make something truly special. 

Over the following days and weeks, we began brainstorming. How would it work. What would they call it. The name Collective struck home as it perfectly described the group. As the Collective grew, we knew there was a need for a more social aspect and so to accompany the LinkedIn Group in February 2018 a Facebook group was created and one and all were welcome with a WhatsApp chat following in the summer of that year. Members became Collectors. Strangers became peers and friends. 

In the summer of 2020 the awesome force of Alan Walker, Alison Ettridge and Nick Brooks joined with Toby Culshaw to kick off the next adventure with the launching of the Talent Intelligence Collective Podcast. This launched to great success in the September of 2020.

We continued to develop and grow building global benchmarking reports, awards and conferences in the Talent Intelligence Collective Jamboree.

The demand for more community got ever stronger so in 2022 this hub was produced.
